ASG Collection - Revolution
Taken from Artist Series Guitar website - There are a number of ways to define the powers-that-be. Some words have more scorn, hatred and a heavier negative connotation, where others leave us unsure and indecisive. In the case of the Revolution model, our first ASG Collections piece, the word 'Fascist' is used, and we're sure that it will insight quite a bit interest in you and the other viewers. Woodie Guthrie borrowed this phrase from a hell-bent war plane, and etched it onto most of his guitars as a message to the average American living during the Great Depression. His intent was to make his audience think. Our intent is the same.
Now although the word 'Fascist' is more commonly used in political rhetoric by two extremely opposing parties, we suggest putting aside the ubiquitous red vs blue mind frame we find in America right now, and think about the state of our political culture in general. Is Fascism still a part of our lives? Do we not have a vast ocean that separates us from countries with seemingly Fascist tendencies?
Fascism is defined by a single dictatorial power that suppresses criticism, opposition and often emphasizes a nationalism littered with racism. But does our inability to find a focal point for the suppression of criticism and opposition mean there are not fascist tendencies in our own country?
With this ASG Collections piece, we don't ask for you to be violent or take literal the phrase you find here. We ask you to learn and understand the power of an oligarchy. We ask you to go against the grain prescribed by lunatic radio pundits. Think, by means of simple contingency, "Who truly suppresses our criticism?" Who truly suppresses our opposition?
If you do this, you will not find a black man at a podium. You won't find an evil radio personality hidden behind a mic. You will not find a room of more than 500 people divided in half by a ridiculous belief system. You'll find that it leads to a flock of sheep, herded easily by corporations and profit. You'll find that 99% of us are one of those sheep.
We make our own country. We make our own culture. The minute we forget that, it's all taken away.
The Revolution ASG is made of solid mahogany, with a rosewood fingerboard. Each Carved top has a unique grain pattern and may differ from the picture shown. It is extremely limited and should be owned only by those interested in going against the grain.
